Hypothyroidism, also known as underactive thyroid, is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. Thyroid controls functions such as heartbeat, digestion of food, body temperature, etc. Hypothyroidism can be an elusive disorder; hence an early diagnosis will provide earlier access to treatment.
